UNDERSTANDING YOUR TARGET AUDIENCE

One of the most important factors that I have learned In Network Marketing and now Online Marketing is to understand your “Target Audience.”

Believe it or not… I don’t just want to work with everyone.  I understand that most of us have the desire to help everyone, but in this case it would be death to your business.  If you are in Network Marketing do you want to deal with a complainer all the time, someone that is not motivated, extremely negative and won’t appreciate you?  If you are an Online Marketer then the death of your business here would be NOT having a clear and concise message for your ideal audience.  Believe it or not targeting multiple audiences can confuse everyone…even you.  

Let me explain…

Attracting the “right people” over to your products, services or offer can make you millions of dollars online. This is how I built my business so fast…I personally leveraged social media. As a stay-at-home Mom, I was fitting my business into every pocket of my time.  I found this route to be extremely helpful, but I needed to learn how to target my audience in regards to my products and opportunity.  

Not taking the time and effort to do this can cost someone thousands of wasted $$$, not to mention wasted time.

Now with being an online marketer helping other Home Based Business Entrepreneurs, I understand the importance of knowing exactly who I want to attract as my ideal client.  Not taking the time and effort to do this can cost someone thousands of wasted $$$, not to mention wasted time.  Think of it this way, if I told you to close your eyes and think of someone that you are incredibly close to (a spouse, parent, child, sibling, etc.) you would know everything about them…their dreams, desires, favorite color, favorite food, what keeps them up at night, what they like or don’t like…you would be laser focused on your messaging to them. Point being is that you know them inside/out and can speak their language. You basically need to create your own Avatar of your ideal client, customer or team member.

Here is a list of items you want to be asking yourself:

  1. Describe your perfect buying audience (Male/Female/Age/parent/single/Kids)
  2. What is their Job/Education/Career?
  3. What are their Likes and Interests?
  4. What is keeping them up at night? Understanding their struggle and pain is key.
  5. What are their desires?
  6. What problems do they have that you can solve?
  7. What are they searching for on Google?
  8. Where do they hangout.. online and offline?
  9. What Magazines/Books/CD’s do they enjoy?
  10. Who are they following on Social Media?
  11. What are their personality traits?

After you take 30 minutes or so creating your Avatar…you want to give them a name.  Yes…I know it can sound a little nutty, but the more you understand them, the more you will be able to speak their language. Make sense?

After doing this exercise you should have a more clear marketing plan set in place.  Whether you are simply sharing about your products and services or if you are in the process of creating a sales funnel with your Signature offer. You can use these steps for both and remember that your vibe will become your tribe, so envision who you want to work with.
