I was recently on a coaching call and the person I was coaching needed help. She said, “Hey, listen. I was with a network marketing company. I didn’t feel like it was my home so I followed my gut, left and went to another network marketing company.”
She was with another network marketing company and ended up leaving. She found somebody that she wanted to partner with so she joined their networking marketing company because she still loves network marketing.
Here’s the deal. She says to me, “Well, I’m so new. I’m starting fresh. I’m starting all over again. They gave me a challenge to show 60 people a presentation in the next 30 days.”
I said, “Well, what works for you? What makes it comfortable for you? Because, again, it’s your business and it’s how you’re running it.”
She responded, “Well, really, for me it’s one-on-one. It’s on social media.”
Great, that’s what I teach. I teach how to build your business pretty much 100% through utilizing social media, but yet she has to get in front of 60 people.
I asked her what she would say on social media. Obviously, those of you that know me know I love Facebook Messenger, especially the voice recording. It’s the best.
I said, “How about this? How about we just tell them the truth? You just say, ‘You know what? I was with company A and I realized it wasn’t my home. I realized that it was not for me and so I ended up joining company B and I have never been more excited and more happy. They gave me a challenge to show 60 people a presentation in 30 days. Will you be one of my 60?”
I will tell you right now, if you are reaching out to your warm market, hot market, and semi-warm market, they will say yes.
Very rarely, will somebody say, “No. I’m not going to watch your presentation.”
This is such a non-invasive way. It was like drop the mic moment for her.
She was like, “This is amazing. I cannot wait to go and run and do this because this right here feels authentic to me.”
You have to do what is authentic to you, so why not just take the direct approach.
Acknowledge you are with company A. It was not for you. You decided to follow your intuition and gut and join company B and you’re super happy about it. Will they watch a 10-minute presentation?
This is why your company, hopefully, has a video.
Most companies have videos, so you’re not being the tool. We want to show the tool, don’t be the tool.
Challenge yourself. See how many people you can reach out to and use that line.
It doesn’t have to be like, “I was with company A. Now I’m with company B.”
You could just say, “Hey listen. I was given a challenge. I don’t know how I’m going to do this, but I have to show 60 people a presentation in the next 30 days. Will you please be one of my 60?”
All you’re trying to do you is get people in front of the information you have.
Then, it’s up to you to follow up.
All she has to do is get in front of 60 people. She doesn’t have to enroll 60 people. At this point I think she’s shooting for over 60 people because she likes this approach so much.
After we got off the call, I was like, “Oh, my gosh. I have to share this with people.”
Often times, I get the question, “Well, what if I was with this other company and now people I knew I was with this company, but now I’m with this company?”
It is okay to change your mind. It is okay to decide that you want to walk away for whatever reason. It is okay.
Don’t feel like because you were always cheering for this company over here and now you’re over here cheering for this company that you’re a bad person because you’re not. You’re absolutely not.
There are things that could have happened in your company, compensation plan or maybe the product.
Whatever. Don’t worry about it.
Just worry about knowing the solution that you have to offer people and speaking to them in a way that is authentic to you.
Not spammy and spamming links and saying things like, “Hey, take a look at this.”
You never ever, ever, send somebody a link without their permission.
It is the worst way to do this business and this is why network marketers get a bad rep.
If you found value in this you, leave me a comment and share this with people that need to hear this information.
I throw the challenge out to all of you. How many people can you reach out to and get a presentation in front of in the next 30 days utilizing this exact verbiage?
I would love to hear from you.

Hey Julie,
this was a real breakthrough for me. I came from the view of people like Eric Worre, who were chanting like “Inviting people by something other than phone or in person does not work, is a waste of time, don’t do it!”
Now you are showing a natural way that I can actually do, following the exact tactic Worre himself suggested in one of his programs, but by text or voice messaging. Awesome!
In fact, I always prefer text over voice messaging, because you never know in which situation the other person is getting your message. Reading a short text and replying to it is possible in nearly all situatuions where a person is able to receive the message anyway. Listening to some recorded message is inappropriate or outright disturbing in many more situations.
How is your view on my concern with voice messaging?
