HOW TO TURN A COLD PROSPECT INTO A HOT ONE WITH AUTHENTICITY
Facebook the Right Way
Seriously, social media is whats up right now. There are over 3 billion internet users in the world and 2 billion of them are on Facebook. Crazy, I know. Social media has turned into a place to connect with people from all over the WORLD, so you want to make sure that if you’re using social media to promote your business, you’re doing it right.
- Create curiosity. Be mysterious and people will have no other choice but to reach out if they want to know more.
- Start with a question and end with a question. Get their brains thinking by asking simple questions in your curiosity post.
- Post Publicly. I know people have this fear about privacy on the internet. Here’s the thing, you can never truly be private, so be consciously public about your posts.
- Don’t be a Spammer. I know you’re excited about the products or your business, but you can’t just go straight for the kill. So don’t turn into a 24/7 spammer! Nobody likes to be sold to when they aren’t openly seeking it, so people are going to get turned off real quick.
Wear Yourself Proudly
Before you can make a sale, you have to make a connection with people. It’s easy to think that if you copy exactly how someone else operates, you’ll be just as successful, but the truth is, that’s not at all how it works.
But, it is absolutely okay to take notes of what others do and then give it a twist, by still making sure that YOU shine through. Because you are NOT your product or company. You are you and that alone is beautiful, so don’t get lost behind the idea of being just like someone else. Because whats going to make you successful is YOURSELF. Own it.
Your Confidence Brings All the Prospects to Your ‘box
Don’t mind the punny “Milkshake” song reference in the title, but it’s true. Your confidence is going to bring you prospects, so again OWN IT. People get so caught up in this fear of how to interact online with a prospect. And it’s kind of funny to me because the solution is so clear.
The way you want to interact with someone ONLINE is the EXACT same way you interact with someone OFFLINE or IN-PERSON.
It’s that simple. This is how you stay you. Make the jokes, keep it casual, find the common ground, ask the right questions, whatever it is you do, do it. But the best part about connecting with prospects online is that you can seek out that common ground on your own by checking out their profiles. You’re a mom and so are they? BOOM! Common ground. So see what they post and find what you BOTH have in common.
And So…
I can’t express enough how powerful social media is. In my very first post I ever did for my business, I got 45 people who expressed interest. 45 PROSPECTS. Now, it was madness trying to set up 45 3-way calls, but because I made one curiosity post I was able to bring in those 45 prospects and here I am 6 years later still creating curiosity and making authentic connections with people on Facebook. Don’t be someone who misses out on this not-so-secret tool of online marketing.
